An average malayali cannot sleep properly, if there is no hartal (it was called bandh early). Yesterday, I rushed to the vegie shops in the latehours to gather stocks for the hartal day. He knows that he sells the vegetables with endosulfan, which comes from Karnataka. Still he preaches big about the need of hartal and as a result of it, endosulfan will be banned worldwide. I have a doubt, which is more dangerous, hartal or endosulfan. I feel this hartal is a pre-cursor to what that has to come for the next five years for the poor mallus. I pray to god that next time also this government should continue atleast to avoid hartals against state subjects.
Anyway.. a happy hartal day...Sorry to all those who had planned some journey, functions etc.... they can participate in it and proudly say that we too were victims of endosulfan and ask for the compensation from the Center Govt.!!!

Wayanad Trip
Trip begun on the New Year Day of 2011. The three families (Genius, Madhu & Myself) were planning a trip together since long, and could not make it together till this date.
We started off early morning (an hour behind the planned schedule) at 6.15am. We reached the Chained Tree temple by 8.30am. Had a break there. It was bit chilly, but not so dense cold as we anticipated. Only the Girls had sweaters with them. Adults were comfortable with the weather. The climb up was not so hard as the roads were patchworked and the no dense mist (Thanks to Global warming!!! shall we say so?)
Our first official stoppage was at Pookode lake. We had our breakfast there. ( it was memorable because I got mistaken over planning it, and Genius has encashed it fully!!!!) We had the boating. The driver was bit interesting and he explained that the shape of the lake is like the map of India (Oops! it resembles so to some extent.) Kids had there time in the available park there. Meenakshi was leading the kids, and excelled in the bars and cages there. Later, after the shopping at the counter there, we moved onto soochipara waterfalls. On the way we had our lunch at Meppadi. The arrangemetns at Soochipara for preserving the nature from Plastic waste is point to be noted and lauded. The stretch to the waterfalls was bit tricky towads the end. Being the first of Jan, the area was packed and hence couldnot enjoy it. Rocks were slippery, hence mainly had a distant view only.

We need more Hazare's or manmohans or achuthanandans or rajas...? let us decide our destiny...

A Success to Anna Hazara or to the Ruling Elite.....?
Does it a well choreographed drama..., the fast unto death by Gandhian Anna Hazare and the support to him by prominent personalities from the ex-bureaucratic world. Well.. we will have another law alongwith scores of other laws, which were neither properly implemented or watered down to meet the needs of the neta and their people. Then why we need another law is the fundamental doubt I have. We have RTI, anti-corruption laws, laws for impeaching even upto the President of India, The PMO is also willing to be under the scanner of the PAC or JPC, whatever you call it. Even then we have rampant corruption in all scores of life and activities in our beloved country, left right, middle no difference, all are corrupted. Then, does it due to our own mindset and cultural problem? I have a strong yes to that question.Because, all in the present IT era wants to make their work completed at the earliest and do venture into newer areas at the earliest to conquer the world, which is not easily possible. Remember the fact in any economy Somebody's Gain is always somebody's loss. Just remember about Mahatma's thought of "Earth have enough to satisfy the needs of the society, but not to satisfy the Greed of the society". (Phrase used may not be exact, but meaning is similar). Also, consumerism had its own role in this corruption and even the rampant industrialisation too. For example, Why we need more airports, more aircrafts? to have under trained and qualified pilots to risk our own life? We are trying to draw a picture of a strong developed nation without strengthening the basics of food, water and shelter, i.e. without providing employment, road connectivity, productivity in our actions. Even the much acclaimen Kudumbashree project of Kerala too become an easy way to corruption and consumerism. Similar is the case of MNREGS of central government, officials and politicians made a nexus to sciphon off the wages to their fictious accounts or to their own people.
Hence, even after having all such pro- development actvities in force, our productivity is still below par and our moral values and responsibility to the society too. People who drives a Skoda (This is one I had seen one fine morning) can throw the waste bag into the public road and drive away without being fined. That is our social responsibility. We all want to reach our destinations first without considering our fellow citizens, hence we make accidents in roads and life and to the society too, corruption begins here. What a PM or an Anna Hazare can do til the people's mindset changes. Another Bill Jan-Lokpal bill... good to the ears.
Anna Hazare made a statement for his life, but does it real? we should be able to change ourselves to see all these efforts fruitful, by deciding not to pay bribes even our works were delayed. Sure that it can not be stopped by anyone. Otherwise we have another fine coined law without any real impact and hence all the efforts by Hazare will become a choreographed drama.
Isn' it? I strongly feel so, it as a media sponsored & directed fiction.... to which Government to acted their roles effectively. Or does it a ploy by Government to deviate attention from the present scams.... Doubts are many.
With only one answer don't be corrupt in mind, control your desires.

Corruption a View......
Its a good effort by a noble person and his supporters. It may succeed in getting a Bill enacted in the Parliament of India too. We have a series of Bills and Rules to prevent corruption. The fun is that each bill whatever may be its stringent norms will be bypassed by our greed. Just think, a policeman, a bureaucrat, a Local body administrator, a chief minister, all are after all human beings, its a fact that, we all are part of it. (By this I am not suporting corruption, but just try to show the root cause of corruption, in my view). These persons with authority is interacting with the his own fellow human beings. Their interaction result in a communcation and it creates a demand by either of the party, mostly by the service seeker to the authority.
For example, I want to construct a house, with all my earnings, that is my mission and dream of life. So, I want it to be like the best in the area, so atleat 2500sqft is a must. But, it will attract luxury taxes, which I cannot afford or donot want to pay.. My architect gives me an initalplan for 1990sqft and I get the approval. After, construction the local body engineer arrives for measurement for fianlising the Taxes. I greet him with a big smile, arranged a nice welcome drink of his choice. He started taking the measurments, I had my local ruling political representative readily available at my home on my invitation. You can imagine, what might have happened to the duty of the engineer. He measured everything and given the correct measurements first, but surely went flat on either on the pleasantaries received by him or by the presence of the local ruling party politicians insistence. The engineer with kids studying in the shool in that area would not afford to have a transfer or just because of his weakness to the pleasantaries he received, he made the measurement as per the intial plan and signed the tax calculation. Here, who is corrupt, thepolitician, the engineer,or me. I feel, its me who is corrupt. So, its me and fellow human beings create a chance to have corrupt people in authority. All are not Kiran Bedi and A K Antony, to be away from all worldly desires and serve the nation. But all can become an average human being, to obey the laws of inner self and then obey the rules of the land. All can limit their space within the framework of the law. Practise it, ignore the demand for a bribe, the authority will come to you with what you want. Today one lady was giving a sermon in Times Now channel on the candle light vigil at NewDlehi, that she had to pay bribe for getting the death certificate of her parent. Why, she had given, definetly for getting the same, before the stipulated time, whichis needed for it. If she had waited for a turn and insisted for it, she might have got it without paying a penny to anyone as bribe. and about the youth who was there with reporters, does any one can say by giving justice to his innerself that, he had not demanded anything beyond the law from any authority, or not tried to escape the punishments by bribing the law enforcement agencies. I feel there will be none in the clean category.
So, its easy to preach, but difficult to practise. Decide, I wont pay bribe, whatever the difficulty I face, it may be delayed, but send a bigger message. I had my own experience, in re-registering my two-wheeler on transfer from Gujarat to Kerala, normally the agents take 2500bucks for the package, where the official fee is about 450 bucks and another 200 for affidavit preparation. I just cannot afford to pay that 2500 on that time, as I have to pay for the house rent advance etc.. and decided to go it alone. Took the necesary documents and set off to the RTO, there was no facilitation desks hence forced to ask to the RTO hinslef, he guided me to the Jt RTO, he briefed me the half of the story and I preapared those half documents and paid the fee, then had to go for the vehick\le inspection, with an incompleted documentation. The MVI inspected the vehicle and asked for the remaining documents, I went to the DTP center and prepared the remaing documents and gone back to the MVI, he signed the papers and submitted the papers and on insistence and sme noisy scenes I got the receipt for my submission in the format.. I was the first one without an agent to get it. They made me to run after it 2, 3 times. Later, when I stopped going for the new Registration number, the over concerned clerk started calling me to collect it. Later many those come on transfer went to smae RTO without any agent with complete documentation and got their work in a day. So, I think it is possible that not to give bribe.
So, is the case of even the 2G spectrum. Only difference is that those things are happening in a bigger spectrum, bigger volume, so it become a News Headline and Channels celebrate it till they get another story.
In no way I am undervaluing the efforts by Mr. Anna Hazare. but, just we too can start from our innersleves with a pledge, that I will obey the rules of the land ask for what I am legitimately deserves. Then I feel very less chance for an authority to ask you for a bribe.
Its my personal opinion and experience.
